I enjoyed the game and did a little run of it. But I really wish the isometric controls matched the normal conventions of the genre, that Up = Up Right. As someone that has played a number of isometric games, this just feels totally wrong and makes it hard to move without fully concentrating. If you do a full version I would love at least the option to choose dpad orientation.
Im glad you like It! Thanks for the video. Yeah someone said the same. I just made It without checking how was the conventional isometric move, I'll do It the right way on the full release ๐
This game is fucking awesome
Thanks! Im very proud of the Game. Hope to be able to make the full version soon
Nice bro the video game facts is were I shine lol check my game out if you want dude tell me what you think and keep it up the way your character moves like a board game is great!!!
the wav channel has an interesting sound to it when exploring the castle. Did you time a wav file to play alongside the music? it sounds great, and i had a fun time with this. the spider complaining about the state of it's gameboy was very funny too lol
nice work :)
Thank you very much for your words!
About the music I can't tell you much, it's the work of the music master Beatscribe who always impresses us with his masterpieces ๐.
The wave channel has several diferente wave forms that cycle between the bass kicks. No wave sampling was used. I think the song has 6 or 7 wave forms used. One for the bass kick drum and the others progressively grow crunchier.
Cool game! The graphics are great and it's executed very well.
It's very similar to my game Retro Trivia Quest. Maybe even inspired by?
It's interesting to see what another GB dev does with the same concept. I don't know if GB Studio is the best engine to make my full game with... but I love that the games can be played on a real Game Boy :)
Hey hello! I really got inspired with Cult Jump, there are many trivia games in the past but sadly theres none on english. Also while reading "The Story of Nintendo" by Florent Gorges, in fact some ideas for the questions are from there. I tried your game some time ago and found it very interesting, although I don't remember It had battles. They really are very similar! Yours is great too and the chats are very funny.
Interesting. I also got trivia ideas from reading video game books ;)
Good luck with your game dev journey!
Made a video with the ending
Good job you cleared It!
Yeah didn't think we would clear it that fast but we were still happy to finally get to the credits scene
So much fun :D
I had a blast playing through this, the pre-battle dialogue really brought a lot of character and the art was real eye candy. There were one or two questions that I didn't know but I was quite surprised that I had this knowledge of some games that I've never even played haha
The only two things about this that I wish were different are:
1) The time to answer questions felt very short. Despite knowing the answer, there were some that I got incorrect simply because I didn't have time to read all of the options clearly (example, I didn't see that "Famicom" was an option for earliest release and chose "NES" instead).
2) The length! I would love to see a longer version if y'all keeping working on it.
Nice job y'all!
PS - Regarding the wolf's question, I do have a copy of Nintendo Power Issue #285 thank you very much! B)
thank you very much for your feedback! I'm very glad you like it.
About the time to answer I don't know if you played It after the small update after the jam. But It has been doubled.
I plan to make this jam project a full release after de finishing Shera's Music Party since its having a good feedback.
Keep that magazine safe! That would is still looking for It ๐
I downloaded the ROM two days ago, looks like I might've missed that update!
Glad to hear about a full release! If you need help with testing in the future, feel free to reach out to me :D
good to know, thanks!
Made a video
Thank you! Btw the Boss bug has been fixed ๐ธ
Now we just have to make it to the boss again and hopefully win
good luck!
Excellent! (Even if i do keep dying!)
Good work ;)
Never give up!! ๐
Since its a JAM Game I used really hard questions to avoid being cleared in a few minutes๐
Excellent work! I really enjoyed playing this. It's got some great retro trivia questions in it, too.
Thank you Gumpy!
This game is amazing! The graphics, the music... But my favorite part is the retro questions. Nice work!
Thank you! I am happy with the result. I have put together very interesting elements
